I am a self-taught artist who paints with acrylics on canvas in the
realistic and photorealistic styles.
I spent 24 years in the Air Force and started painting after September 11, 2001
in an effort to relax and focus on something other than the chaos going on in
the world. When I retired in 2005,
my painting had become her passion.
My love of capturing a moment, a scene, or an image realistically with just the
right amount of contrast and value without diminishing the vivid color is
evident in my murals and my canvas paintings.
In my current work, I am exploring my fascination with glass and
wine which are very abstract in nature. I enjoy the challenge of taking the abstract and forming something extremely realistic.
I've moved to San Antonio, TX and we are scheduled to move to Altus, OK this summer. I 've participated in a group show at the Prince George Hotel in NYC, had solo shows in Virginia and Maryland and participated in group shows in
Florida, Kansas, Texas and Virginia. In addition, I've participated in
the monthly exhibits at the Torpedo Factory in
Alexandria, Virginia and the Lorton Workhouse in Lorton, Virginia. I have completed numerous commissions for clients in Alabama, California, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregan, Pennsylvania, Washington
D.C., Florida, Texas, Virginia, Kansas, and Arizona.
My awards include Best in Show at the 2011 Fairfax, VA Spotlight on the Arts fine art show, two
Honorable Mentions (2012 & 2010) during the Fairfax, VA Spotlight on the Arts fine art
show, an Equal Merit Award in the Student/Faculty Show at the Torpedo
Factory in Alexandria, VA, and an Equal Merit Award during the November show at the Lorton Workhouse in Lorton, VA. In
addition, I received six People’s Choice Awards at the Fairfax Art League gallery spaces. I am also the

in Kansas and an Honorable Mention in Destin, Florida.
